Bill began his career as a media planner/buyer with Bell Advertising in 1982. He spent the next four years getting to know the Irish media scene before moving to London to join Saatchi & Saatchi in 1986. In late 1987, Bill joined Ogilvy London as media executive. From 1991 to 1994 Bill was Press and Radio Buying Director at the network, London, the now semi-independent media arm of Ogilvy.
Bill was appointed to the board at Ogilvy, London in 1994 and remained as Media Director until 1998 when Mindshare was established in the UK. Bill assumed the role of Commercial Director at Mindshare.
In March 1999 Bill moved back to Dublin to setup the Mindshare business here. He became CEO of Mindshare Ireland when the business was established on 1st July 1999. He has since expanded his role to include CEO of GroupM the WPP media buying group incorporating MindShare, Wavemaker and MediaCom. The business now has billings in excess of €170m per annum and employs 158 people across four separate offices.
